Parties and Cake Pops

So today is my birthday.  The sun is shining and people are posting like crazy on my facebook page. I slept in, my kiddos are still sleeping and I'm sitting her blogging and drinking a cup of coffee.  I have NO idea what my hubby will get me today...there is really NOTHING that I need or WANT right now...except a dog...I really want a new little doggy....I'm still recovering from the weekend...but wanted to share some events from our weekend.

First of all the graduation party went off well after a rather shaky start.  If you are a stepmom like I am there are a few things that you need to keep in mind...the first one being....stay BACK....realize this is NOT your child...and when you do and are ASKED to step forward...life just is better.

For the link on my cake pop tips click herehttp://jme71-loudsilence.blogspot.com/2012/05/cake-pop-trial-run.html

Here is how I displayed the cake pops. I just spray painted terra cotta pots and tied with tulle...they were so cute displayed and then I just kept refilling them.

They were a BIG hit all 165 of them!

The flowers were lovely that my stepdaughter and her mother picked out!

I can't believe how tall Trey is and Elisha had on high heels!
It was a great night and we are blessed with having so many wonderful people in our lives!

Cake Pops and Orange Soap

Last night my hubby felt so sorry for me and all that I had to do he took over laundry and tried to help make cake pops.  Right now at this moment I can tell you my house is a TOTAL wreck, my kitchen a disaster with blue icing and things for a graduation party EVERY WHERE! I did take time to run last night with my hubby that is a GREAT stress reliever!

So, at last count I had over a 100 cake pops done....trying to get 200 done but will probably poop out at 150...because right now....I'm dreaming about them.

In an earlier post I wrote about making them and all I can tell you is that they are NOT hard...they are just time consuming....

at this moment this is a glimpse at what they look like...I will take more pics at the graduation party and show you what containers I put them in.

I'm also making choc flowers to kind blend in with them as well... kinda add a little fun to it!

and because I'm insane and you all know it....I also took time to make my favorite orange soap....I LOVE how the layers came out this time.  This soap has the absolute GREATEST lather and I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!

Next week after I get the pool up and some other things done around here I have two more new soaps to try!

Have a GREAT smelling day!!!!!

Plans for Summer

Why am I sharing my boring TO DO list with you all??? Well, sometimes if I write it down for all to see I just MIGHT actually get around to finishing it!

We have one going to college and switching of the rooms going on....lots of painting and new furniture being brought into the house that we inherited and lots of furniture going out of the house that we no longer need.

So, for outside:
1.  My E's playhouse--finish painting porch, chalkboard paint on the inside wall
2.  Put up pool
3.  Wood chips around swingswet

E's Room
1.  Find storage for books
2.  Add second bed
3. Figure out better flow of her room and closet space

T's Room
1. Paint blue stripe down the center
2. Sew new curtains
3.  Organize, purge and figure out gaming section, school section, sleeping section

S's Room
1.  Paint walls grey and trim white
2.  Chalk paint new bed and two dressers
3.  Organize and purge her room

1. Figure out better soap storage
2.  Move all decorations to attic and go through and purge Christmas decor..it is OUT of control!

1. Make a ton of freezer meals
2. Make strawberry freezer jam
3. Make a meal schedule for the next 6 months

There you go that's my summer plan! I'm also going on one vacation, one business vacation and sending my children off to artscape, iserve,VBS, church camps, boyscout camp, and missions trip....this might ACTUALLY all get done

oh and for me you ask??
1. soap making as time and money allows
2.  Getting in shape for my 5K that I will run in August...yes, at a mile I need an inhaler (and I don't even HAVE asthma!)
3.  Clown some more! I so miss the kiddos!
4.  Get my E  closer to reading...she has a speech problem so we have a lot of hard work to do!
Have a GREAT day!

Four No More

The night before last I sat by my E's bed while she lay sleeping....knowing that it was her last night of being four.  Why does saying goodbye to four make me so sad? It seems that when five comes it all seems to go soo fast after.  Saturday my E had her dance recital...and I bawled through the whole thing...here my E was with all the big girls on stage and doing her dance...I was proud, sad, and amazingly blessed.  I had prayed for my E for so long...and now, now she was a little girl...not a baby, not a toddler...but a little girl.

Yesterday, I tried to make it as amazing of a day as possible...to not bore you with a million pics I have narrowed it down to a few.....feel free to browse quickly!

We first went to Petco and got her two Betta Fishes....she was so excited! This morning she has already sat and watched them forever!

They have dividers so the bettas won't "hurt" each other...she LOVES them!
We then went out to eat at her fav place and she and her brother shared a "free" dessert...which Mommy really liked as well!

She's so ladylike eh?
I decided to let her have ONE early bday present!

Then it was present time!

My E LOVES My Little Pony!
REALLY loves My Little Pony!
Gma and Gpa gave her money so she wanted to buy even MORE My Little Ponies....didn't get a pic of those though...ooops!

THEN, for the BIG suprise....my E was given two little bikes but she is too TALL for them....and so...

I got to get her....

Isn't that look on her face PRICELESS???
Let's take it on the ROAD!

Cake Time! Sadly, I sent my hubby to Baskin Robbins for an ice-cream cake....my E is allergic to soy and corn.....so sadly.....my homemade bday cake had to do:(

She just loves to hear us sing to her! It is pretty funny I must say!
Happy Birthday my E....lets go a little slower this year during five ok?

May you all have a BLESSED day!

Sea Clay and Coffee Soap

Lots of insanity going on this week...and as usual...soap making calms me!

This week I tried two new soaps...the first one being made with Sea Clay and Avocado Oil and fragranced with Tea Tree Oil and Lavender! This one is a facial soap which I'm totally dying to TRY!

Can't wait to try them!

This soap the ingredients include: Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Avocado Oil, Cocoa Butter, Castor Oil, Water, Sodium Hydroxide, Sea Clay , Lavender and Tea Tree essential Oil.

The second soap I did was a second look at coffee soap....there are no fragrances in this soap at all...but still gives off a light scent with the coffee grounds and coffee butter.

I'm so looking forward to trying both of these soaps!

The coffee soap include the following ingredients!  Coconut Oil, Palm Oil, Olive Oil, Coffee Butter, Sodium Hydroxide, Cappuccino Mica, Copper Sparkle Mica, Titanium Dioxide and Ground Coffee!

Have a GREAT smelling day!

As for us we are celebrating my E as she turns five today! I made sure to kiss her forehead last night as she was sleeping...she won't be four again...why do they have to grow up SOOO fast!

Have a GREAT day!
